iPhone photo of the day… of the week!

Well, this week I am going to post a few photos for iPhone photo of the day.. of the week.  I captured a few of these during class, while my students were shooting with film for the first time.   It is amazing to think that most of these kids have never used film before, and most have never really taken photos with anything other than there camera phone, or at least the majority of the photos they have taken.   I have read a few articles lately of pros using old school techniques, but then combining them with new school stuff. These photos from Scott Kelby’s blog, featuring Tim Mantoani, has Tim using a polaroid hooked up to his studio flash to get some really cool results. These students will learn to process the film and print it using the darkroom enlargers, but the thing that is geeking me out right now, is that we will later take those negatives and scan them into photoshop.  Using technology from 100 years ago, and using with new ideas.  It should be fun.

Lastly, this image was taken at the end of the day leaving school.  It unbelievable that I live in Colorado and get to see this stuff every day.  Thanks for reading today.

Great blog Jeremy. I am really glad to have learned on the Vivitar, it really makes me appreciate the roots of photography and to take every shot carefully and thoughtfully. If you just take pictures indiscriminately and just click the shutter and don’t think about it, you don’t become a better photographer.

Great Jeremy! Myself, I am very glad to have learned on the Vivitar. It really made me appreciate photography and think about every exposure. If you indiscriminately snap the shutter and not think about what is happening in the viewfinder, you never learn and can’t become a better photographer.
